Anna Smith – Fiddle

Hailing from Moray in the North of Scotland, Anna began playing fiddle at a young age and whilst at high school she became a member of the Fochabers Fiddlers; a fiddle group arranged by James Alexander.  Upon arriving in Edinburgh to study in 2003, Anna found herself in high demand for function and ceilidh bands; playing at hundreds of events during her university years and traveling as far as Nigeria and Morroco.  It was this experience that led her to form Edinburgh Sounds in 2008, aiming to provide a professional level of entertainment and a high degree of flexibility; whilst maintaining a personal relationship to each event.  Alongside Edinburgh Sounds, Anna has recorded original music with Canadian singer/songwriter Soraiya and is a regular feature in the Stu Goodall Band.

Stephanie Hislop – Lead Vocals

Finding a love of the stage at a young age, Stephanie won a place at the prestigious Hurtwood House 6th Form College to study Musical Theatre. Performing musicals including ‘Copa Cabana’ and ‘Sweet Charity’ in the vocal harmony group, she then ‘rebelled’ against the jazz hands and high kicking by forming the school’s only live rock band. With a taste for live music, Stephanie then went on to hone her craft studying vocals at the Academy of Contemporary Music. After graduating in 2005 and returning to her native Scotland, Stephanie began to make a name for herself locally as a vocalist. She joined a number of function bands and has since performed all over Scotland, including Hogmanay at the world-renowned Gleaneagles Hotel. She has also performed as far away as Lagos in Nigeria for a St Andrew’s Day event.
