Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What are your set up and performance times?

All timings are entirely flexible, we will work with you and the venue to make sure our set up and performance times are tailored to your requirements.  We usually set up one hour before a performance and will play for 3 hours in an evening, two 1.5 hour sets is preferable but again this is up to you.

2.  I am worried about having ‘dead time’ before the band starts at my wedding, can you set up quicker?

We take one hour to set up and sound check to ensure the best sound quality all night.  In our experience a break between dinner and dancing gives you and your guests a chance to refresh, and greet evening guests; this also allows the venue to set the room up for the evening reception.  However if possible we can set up before the meal at an additional cost.

3.  We have the venue booked until 1.00; can you play till past 12.00?

This is certainly possible, but would mean either a later start time or more breaks throughout the evening as the performance time of 3 hours is the maximum. Playing after 12 also incurs an additional charge.  There is also the option of playing an iPod after the band finishes, in the past, couples have made up their own playlist for the last half hour.

4.  The first dance we would like is not on your set list, can you learn it?

Of course!  We are more than happy to learn first dances and up to 3 other songs which may not be on our set list as long as we are made aware of your song choices one month before the event.

5.  I’d like to have a ceilidh but am worried it might be too energetic and my guests might not know the dances.

A couple of ceilidh dances in the first set is a great way to fill the dance floor and get people mingling, we usually intersperse these with songs to give dancers a break.  We have a large repertoire of dances to suit all ages and abilities; we’ll also call each dance so your guests have a chance to practice before the music starts.

6.  Do you bring all your own lighting and sound equipment?

We bring our own (PAT Tested) PA system and fully qualified sound engineer to make sure the everything goes smoothly.  We don’t routinely provide lighting (as so many venues have in house lighting) however Anna is happy to arrange light hire on your behalf so please get in touch.
